Mary MacIntyre OBE

Mary has worked as a town planner since the mid seventies, in England and Ireland, in both the public and private sectors.
A graduate of the University of Manchester, Mary began her career with Salford City Council before returning to live in Northern Ireland. She then worked for an environmental consultancy before joining the Department of the Environment Northern Ireland in 1991.
She worked in a number of the DOE local offices throughout Northern Ireland and between 2011 and her retirement in October 2014, was a member of the DOE Senior Management Team, and was appointed Chief Planner in April 2013.
Mary has been a member the NI Branch Executive of Royal Town Planning Institute for over 10 years.
She was awarded Honorary membership of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects in 2015.
Mary was awarded the OBE in the 2014 New Years Honours for services to Planning and to charity.
